GIS Planning Clients Receive IEDC 2014 Economic Development Awards

Alissa Sklar is the director of marketing for GIS Planning. She has extensive experience as a consultant, writer and educator in the fields of technology and communications. Dr. Sklar has a Ph.D. in Communications from the University of Massachusetts of Amherst, and has as worked closely with B2Bs and economic development agencies to assess, develop and implement social media strategies for business development.

A hearty congratulations to all of the winners of this year's International Economic Development Council (IEDC) awards. Excellence in the field of economic development deserves public recognition, and we are particularly pleased to cheer on the many GIS Planning clients who won big in Fort Worth at the IEDC 2014 Annual Conference. Fred Morley, executive vice president and chief economic of the Greater Halifax Partnership in Nova Scotia, Canada, was designated a Fellow Member by IEDC. This designation is given to active members in recognition of their accomplishments in the field of economic development. 

Jon Bittner, deputy commissioner of the State of Alaska - Commerce, Community & Economic Development in Anchorage, AK, was named Young Economic Development Professional of the Year.
