Anatalio Ubalde, MCP, FM, Co-CEO & Co-Founder
Mr. Ubalde’s work in geographic information systems, economic development and the Internet has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Forbes, and Inc. magazine.  He is a previous recipient of the International Economic Development Council Outstanding New Economic Developer of the Year Award, is a member of the Board of Directors, and in 2009 was named a Fellow Member of IEDC for achieving exceptional stature in the field of economic development.  Mr. Ubalde has also accepted the CoreNet Global Economic Development Leadership & Accomplishment Award for GIS Planning.  He has received awards from the Council for Urban Economic Development, American Economic Development Council, CALED, American Planning Association, and was featured in the U.S. Department of Commerce “Innovative Local Economic Development Programs” publication.  Mr. Ubalde is a highly sought-after thought-leader on the subject of economic development Internet and GIS strategies and has made presentations on these subjects throughout North America, Asia and Europe.  He has been a keynote speaker and presenter for IEDC, Stockholm Challenge, Bremen Initiative, Texas Economic Development Council, California Association for Local Economic Development, Mid-American Economic Development Council, Southern Economic Development Council, Oklahoma Economic Development Council, Oregon Economic Development Association, American Planning Association, and other organizations.  He is the author of publications including the 2008 book Economic Development Marketing: Present & Future, and articles in Economic Development America, Economic Development Commentary, and the Canadian Economic Development and Technology Journal. Before co-founding GIS Planning he worked in local economic development with a focus on downtown revitalization, waterfront redevelopment, business attraction/expansion, business retention, and site selection assistance.  Mr. Ubalde is a sixteen-time United States Master’s Diving National Champion, an All-American, and in October of 2009 won four bronze medals at the World Masters Games in Sydney, Australia in springboard and platform diving.  He has a Masters degree in City Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.  
 
Pablo Monzon, MCP, Co-CEO & Co-Founder
Mr. Monzon has over fifteen years of GIS experience including application development, Internet-based GIS, web page development, GIS training and database management.  He is the developer of a number of award-winning Internet-based GIS applications including TVAsites.com, WashingtonProspector, SacSites, Oklahoma Economic Development Information System, Vallejo Economic Development Information System, KennewickProspector, INside Rancho, and Fujitsu's INFOFORUM GIS.  His work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, CNN, NBC News, and numerous GIS-related publications.  Mr. Monzon has lectured about Internet GIS in Europe, the United States, and Latin America and has been published in magazines such as ArcUser.  He is recognized as one of the finest experts in ArcIMS and ArcGIS application development in the industry.  His work has twice received the Special Achievement in GIS award.  Prior to GIS Planning, Mr. Monzon worked for Vectiv, an online GIS site selection company focused on the retail industry.  He is an expert in ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, MapObjects IMS, GoogleMaps, Active Server Pages, Java, Java Script, XML, DHTML, HTML, .NET, ArcView, ArcInfo, Internet Map Server, Spatial Analyst, Visual Basic and Avenue.  He is an avid enthusiast of the electric organ and has performed original compositions in international music competitions.  He was also a Fulbright Scholar, during which time his pioneering GIS tools and research included affordable housing, urban growth, disaster recovery costs, and economic development. Prior to GIS Planning he worked at Vectiv, an Internet site selection GIS company that was started at Camp 6.  Mr. Monzon has a Master in City Planning from U.C. Tom Watson, Lead Programmer
Mr. Watson is responsible for leading the programming for GIS Planning’s Software as a Service. Prior to joining GIS Planning, he developed applications for major corporations such as Stanley, Harley Davidson, and Vera Bradley. He brings sixteen years of software development experience to GIS Planning.  Mr. Watson has also developed solutions in varied fields including robotics, e-commerce, insurance reporting, and  healthcare. Mr. Watson has a BS in Physics from Grand Valley State University, Michigan, and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Certified Citrix Administrator. Mr. Watson also conducted research in the field of polymer chemistry and his research on germanium is published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. He is an accomplished golfer.
 
Steve Browne, Vice President of Sales
Steve Browne is a seasoned technology executive with twenty-five years of experience in software development, consulting, pre-sales technical support, direct sales, business development, telesales, government sales and sales management.  Steve is a veteran of multiple startups including Oracle, Patrol (acquired by BMC), Geodesic (acquired by Veritas), Collation (acquired by IBM), General Interface (acquired by TIBCO), Acquis (acquired by Leica) and others.  Steve led several startups to their first million in sales and built several sales teams to go well beyond that.  Steve is the author of the book Traction on how technology startups can achieve sustained revenue growth.  He used the methodology in his book at the Tivoli division of IBM, for example, to create a $30M annual stream of revenue from scratch in 18 months, starting as a lone sales rep and scaling a sales team up from there.  Steve is accelerating the adoption of GIS Planning’s technology into the economic development marketplace.  Steve started his career as a programmer/analyst for the MCAUTO division of McDonnell Douglas (now part of Boeing) in 1983 and opened the Oracle St. Louis office in 1987.  Steve graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri in 1983 with a BS in Business and a concentration in Management Information Systems.
 
Arti Kuthiala, Marketing Director
Ms. Kuthiala brings over a decade of marketing and product management experience in the technology space, with a focus on online advertising and social media. She was most recently at OxyLabs Networks, a leading Open Social applications development company, where she led Community Management initiatives and drove product strategy to foster growth and engagement across various social networks. Prior to that she led product roadmap and strategy for the VideoEgg publisher portal, a rich-media ad network leading the industry with its innovative user experience and business model. She has worked in New Product Development at Orange Labs, part of the France Telecom Group, where she conducted extensive market research to identify market opportunities and spearhead initiatives in immersive video advertising solutions across Internet and mobile networks. Arti has also worked for the United States Chamber of Commerce and the San Francisco Global Trade Council. She co-authored the book Regional Wealth Creation in the Innovation Economy ©Prentice Hall, where she interviewed senior government and leading industry executives on success factors for creating wealth in the innovation economy. Arti is accelerating the adoption and use of GIS Planning’s technology into the economic development, site selection and business industries.  Arti has an MBA from San Francisco State University with a focus on Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and has collaborated on numerous projects with the Ohrenschall Center for Entrepreneurship, including New Technical Product for the Port of Oakland. Arti is a passionate social media and end-user advocate, loves to travel internationally and speaks multiple languages fluently.
