Regional economic development organization, Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership (www.chooseNEindiana.com) is one of the first organizations to integrate the browser-based Google Earth technology service into their site. FORT WAYNE, INDIANA, May 30, 2008 - Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership (RP), in collaboration with GIS Planning, became one of the first organizations to offer an integrated experience of Google Earth with a sites and buildings searchable database on their web site (www.chooseNEindiana.com ). As soon as Google announced the availability of browser-based Google Earth functionality, GIS Planning, Inc.'s development team jumped on the opportunity to integrate the popular application into their existing Google Maps-powered services. "We are thrilled to have our web site up-to-date with cutting-edge technology. Our selection of GIS Planning in the very beginning stages of developing a sites and buildings database was key to keeping ahead of other ED organizations, they brought innovation and rapid-response to new technologies to the table ," said John Sampson, President & CEO of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership . Integration of the Google Earth service will allow visitors to the RP website to map available sites and buildings in the area onto a map that allows for a 3D degree view of locations. This gives prospect companies and site selection consultants the advantage of higher quality images and a faster experience on the site. About the Regional Partnership: Created in 2006, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership's mission is to market the eleven-county region and team with local economic development organizations (LEDOs) to bring new jobs and commercial investment to the area. The Partnership concluded a successful Investment campaign in October of 2006 targeting an initial operating period of five years. The RP's global marketing efforts will be on behalf of LEDO's in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Grant, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties. |
